How it started

Originally, the facility was going to be built on a smaller scale for private use and occasional rentals. As the ball got rolling with the building plans, the expansion and potential for a larger scale facility which provided the local community an outlet for all kinds of sports activities began to come in to fruition. NorthSport was born in 2010.

Location

NorthSport is located at 469 Fort Salonga Road in the Village of Northport, New York. Just a stones throw away from downtown Northport. The Incorporated Village of Northport is home to over 7,500 Residents and features two Waterfront Parks, Deep Water Harbor, Antique Shops,and Restaurants. Northport Village is gradually becoming an entertainment, cultural and shopping destination.

We provide a fun and safe environment for kids and adults to play sports. We provide instruction for every level of athletic ability.

What we offer

Basketball

A whole lot of it too!

  • NorthSport is the home of the Long Island Lightning AAU Basketball program.

  • Camps, Camps and more Camps! We have annual Summer Camps, Holiday Camp, Presidents Week Camp and Spring Break Camp. On top of that we host a number of specialized boot camps throughout the year.

  • NorthSport is a premier venue for basketball tournaments. We host a number of our own as well as rent out to outside organizations.

  • If you already have a team or are looking to put one together, be sure to join one of the many basketball leagues we host at NorthSport. We have youth leagues and mens adult leagues that run year-round.

  • Want to learn and perfect your basketball skills? We have clinics for all levels of talent. Mini Hoopsters is a great way to get your kid started in basketball.

Turf Sports

From December through early March we put a turf field down on one of our basketball courts, providing a place to play field sports in the winter.

  • If you are looking for Soccer, we've got it. We offer youth soccer clinics and camps, a womens adult soccer league and our turf is always available to rent for your team practices. Our turf books up quickly, so don't miss out! Book your rentals early!

  • Lacrosse is the fastest growing game on Long Island. Get your kid started in Lacrosse at NorthSport. We annually hold our NorthSport Lacrosse Academy and NorthSport Soccer Academy which offer boys and girls a chance to grow their skills!
